About the Event

Designed for K–5 educators, this workshop will explore how music and mindfulness can be used to support student regulation, focus, and emotional well-being. Led by a certified music therapist (MTA), participants will learn evidence-based strategies that connect music, the nervous system, and readiness to learn. The session will highlight practical, developmentally appropriate tools that can be integrated into both music and general education classrooms. Educators will leave with a clear understanding of how intentional use of music can support self-regulation, smooth transitions, and create a calmer, more supportive learning environment for young students.

Learning Outcomes

  • Describe how intentional use of music can support focus, emotional regulation, and readiness to learn.

  • Select and adapt simple music-based techniques to meet the needs of diverse learners in general and music education settings.

  • Increase confidence in using music as a supportive tool for regulation and well-being in a variety of contexts and settings.

Audience: K-5 Educators
