SMEA recognizes those who advance music education in Saskatchewan either through their current outstanding work or by recognizing what they have done throughout their career. The SMEA Outstanding Achievement and Honourary Lifetime Awards are presented annually to a music educator who brings honour to the profession.
Outstanding Achievement Award:
Recognizes either one outstanding accomplishment or an ongoing dedication to excellence in music. The recipient neither needs to be nor have been a SMEA member.
Honourary Lifetime Award:
Presented to retired or current members who have demonstrated one or more of the following:

Raised the profile of the value of music education in Saskatchewan

Made a significant contribution to initiatives in music education

Made significant contributions to SMEA and music education in Saskatchewan.
Nominations are limited to a maximum 200-word explanation, which will be used for publication (some edits may occur). Nomination Deadline: December 31, 2022.
